Delivery costs

These are displayed beside the PayPal buttons on the Out Now page of the website. Books are sent out using Royal Mail, and can be despatched at the 1st class or 2nd class rates. For 1st class delivery (usually 2-3 days) postage and packing is added at the rate of £4.00, while for 2nd class delivery (usually 4-5 days) it’s added at the rate of £3.50. Please note that as books are posted using Royal Mail’s services, Helen Claire Gould Books is not responsible should an order take longer than usual to arrive; however, if an order has not arrived 14 days after the original posting date, please contact Helen Claire Gould Books at www.Zarduth.com so that we can investigate.

Because sending physical books overseas is prohibitively expensive via Royal Mail, overseas purchasers are referred to Kindle, where Floodtide is also available. For this reason, the language available to buyers is limited to English.

Payment method:

Online orders are handled securely by PayPal, through which any refunds to your account will be arranged should one be owed, either full or partial.

Returns Policy

Should you need to return a book, please read this section. This Returns Policy does not affect your statutory rights. All returns should be sent to the Returns Address above.

Helen Claire Gould Books is unable to exchange books for any other reason.

Please note:

Should Helen Claire Gould Books send you a replacement for a damaged or incorrect book, you must return the original book to Helen Claire Gould Books within 30 days of our e-mail confirming issue of any replacement book, or a refund, if you haven’t already done so. Provided the original book is returned to us within the 30 days, you will have nothing more to pay. If you do not return the original book to us by the end of the 30 day period, we reserve the right to charge an amount equal to the price of your original order to the payment card you used for the order.

When you return your book to us, we will process the returned book, then notify you via e-mail of your refund. Within 21 days of our receipt of your return, you can expect a refund by the same method of payment you used for the original order.

Exchanges

Damaged books returned for exchange: in accordance with our returns policy, if your book has been returned because it was damaged in transit, we will refund your return postage cost. Helen Claire Gould Books will check all books returned as damaged, and in the event that we find no fault, we reserve the right to recover our fees and expenses from you.

Incorrect Books returned for exchange: in accordance with our returns policy, if you are returning a book because of an error on our part, we will refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the book to you and pay your costs of returning it to us (by refunding your return postage costs).

Your Statutory Rights

 Fourteen-day cooling off period

By law, customers located in the European Union have the right to a fourteen-day cooling-off period from the day after the date the item is delivered. To cancel your purchase within the fourteen-day cooling-off period, please repackage the relevant book(s) securely and send it to us, with the delivery slip, so that we receive it within fourteen days of the day after the date that the book was delivered to you.

Where you are withdrawing from your purchase within the fourteen working day cooling-off period, and there has been no error on our part, we will refund the cost of the book and the cost of sending the book to you as follows:

  • where you are returning a book that was part of a larger order, we will refund the original per-book charge for delivery that you incurred;
  • where you are returning an entire order, we will refund the original applicable per-book delivery charges that you incurred.

Please note: this policy excludes personalised items, including signed books in which the message includes a name specified by you. These items will of course be replaced if damaged in transit with another signed copy.

Helen Claire Gould Books do not deliver or accept orders for printed books outside the UK (see delivery costs section above) or collect books from clients.

We will only refund your costs in returning the book to us if you return the item to us because of an error on our part, or due to damage in transit. Please note that you will therefore be responsible for the costs of returning the book to us should you decide to cancel your order. If we do not receive the book back from you with the delivery slip, we may arrange for collection of the book from you at your cost. Personalised (i.e. signed) copies will not be refunded.

On receipt of notice of your cancellation of an order, we will refund the relevant part of the purchase price for that book, together with the book’s normal postage charge – we cannot refund any priority, express or courier component of the postage charge.
