Workshops

I am not currently planning to run the regular Writing and Self-Publishing courses I have previously run. This is because I have experienced low demand for them in recent years, despite aiming for a more professional look by going through a ticketing agency.

I am, however, developing a series of 1-hour Masterclasses in specific subjects, and have decided to concentrate on them at present. Apart from fitting nicely into convention slots, they look deeply into particular matters of interest to writers and self-publishers.

The first of these was Transitions, followed by Performance Reading.

Up-coming new subjects are All You Wanted to Know About ISBNs, which people seem to get very confused about, so a useful subject for self-publishers; Making an ePub on Draft2Digital; and An Easy Way to Make Book Trailers.

In accordance with my previous methods, I will be offering an initial free face-to-face first run at one of the conventions I regularly attend, either Bristolcon, Novacon or Eastercon, and then a free Zoom version, at which I will check out potential technical problems. If you’re interested in being part of one of these sessions, please get in contact with me, either at the convention concerned, or via my Facebook pages, or through my newsletter, Spyglass Perspectives. After that, the paid versions will be good to go, and you can sign up for these in the same way, or through TicketSource. The cost will be £20 for each person attending at any of the Masterclasses.

I will be scheduling some dates for the Transitions and Performance Reading Masterclasses soon. You can look on this page for more information, as well as Facebook and Spyglass Perspectives.

If you are interested in the original Writing and Self-Publishing workshop series, please contact me via Facebook or through Spyglass Perspectives. They are shelved, not cancelled completely, and if enough people are interested to run them again, I will.
